At Folicure we understand that baldness is more than just skin deep. For our female clients this is especially true. Unlike men, for whom it is socially accepted and sometimes hailed as attractive and even sexy to be balding, for women it is socially inhibiting and emotionally traumatic.
For many women hair loss is frustrating, embarrassing, annoying or simply devastating. Failed attempts to correct the problem through hair transplants, hair tonics, drugs and other therapies, wigs, hair extensions, weaves and braiding only add fuel to the fire. Some of our clients come to us after having been thru the gamut of hair replacement techniques, only to comment that they “wish they had found Folicure first”.
While weaves and braiding appear to offer a temporary solution to the problem, they in fact only accelerate induced alopecia and premature balding. For many of our female clients, especially those in the African American community, hair loss is not a hereditary condition, but has been induced through years of pulling and tugging to produce fashionable hairstyles such as cornrows and twists.
