System Maintenance
We put a lot of work and artistry into creating a beautiful new head of hair for you. Maintaining your new hair, however, will require some awareness and understanding on your part.
The hair systems we produce are usually perfect on cut in day, though sometimes they will need some fine-tuning or alterations in order to make them perfect. This is normal and part of the process, because our systems are individually tailored to suit your desire. This is what separates us from other hair replacement companies.
After you have received your new hair, you will need to be aware of the following:
UNDERSTANDING THE NATURE OF SYSTEMS
All hair replacement systems will experience hair loss.
Anyone or any company who tells you otherwise is attempting to insult your intelligence. If human hair did not break or fall out there would be no such thing as hair loss to begin with.
The fact is that human hair does break, most clients understand this, however there are some people who simply don't realize this. It is important for you know that because we use real human hair to achieve an undetectable system, there will be some hair loss across the life of your system. The longer the hair is, the more readily hair breaks and comes untied. Curly hair breaks and tangles more that straight hair. Since hair is tied to the mesh base of the hair system, knots can come untied which, again, results in hair loss.
This is not a Folicure problem, but a human hair problem. We will offer a Folicure solution, however, if at any time you experience more hair loss than is normal.
While we encourage our clients to enjoy life to the fullest whilst wearing their systems, we do recommend you take a little extra care whilst brushing or combing your new hair.
Hair loses color over the course of time.
Please do not let anyone try to convince you that human hair will not fade. With the exception of naturally jet black hair, which hardly ever needs retouching, all human hair will fade in time. Lighter tones of brown and blonde have very little color pigment and fade frequently. Again, this is not Folicure Hair issue- but a human hair flaw.
It is essential that you do not try to color the systems yourself, as they can be damaged by incorrect application. System coloring and maintenance is a specialized technique that is far different from methods used for natural hair. Do not allow everyday stylists to color treat your hair. Doing so will render your warranty with us null and void. We will offer you advice as to what you can do to reduce the rate of color fading. Our technicians are highly trained to work with our systems, and will keep your hair looking vibrant and shiny, and most of all - undetectable.
Haircare products affect your system.
If you choose to use off-the-shelf products with your system you may experience higher levels or breakage or hair loss and color fading. Use of improper products will render your Folicure warranty null and void. We have a line of specially developed shampoos, conditioners and styling products made with FDA approved natural ingredients. Our products help to extend the life and color of your system and will ensure that you get the greatest results to maintain your undetectable look.
